The Three Lions, Stuckton, with Mike Womersley

This was the New Forest at its best. A cloudlesss sky, with the sun setting as a large red globe, as we took a vin d'honneur in the conservatory. In the relaxed atmosphere of Mike and Jayne's restaurant we settled into some stunning food.
Mike pulled out all the stops to re-create recipes from Michelin 2 and 3-starred restaurannts. Never have I eaten faggots as good, and the sauce was sublime. This was followed by a wonderful ravioli of crab and scallops, perfectly counterfoiled by the St Abin 1er Cru.
Then, a first for most of us, Shropshire Blue Mille Feuille with Lillypilly's fortified Shiraz! Bravo Mike.
