Dinner at The Chesil Rectory, Winchester, with Robert Quehan
Friday 2 February
Award winning head chef Robert Quehan has brought a new and exciting style of classic French cuisine to The Chesil Rectory and together with the front of house team, headed by Gary Nicholls, provided a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
A full house enjoyed Rob's great cooking, given an extra dimension with a last minute surprise of an additional course of Solent Sea Bass, caught freshly that morning.
Members were thrilled with the Pyrennean lamb which matched the Vacqueras extremely well.
Both the two sorbets were stunning and totally intrigued everybody as they were sweet but sugarless ! Thanks to Rob's new Pastry Chef and a first for most people.
The warmth of this old building, the oldest habitable building in Winchester, added to the great ambience of the evening.
