Dinner at le Poussin at Whiteley Ridge, Brockenhurst, with Alex Aitken

The graceful country house setting of Whitley Ridge created a wonderful ambience for our evening. Head Chef and Proprietor Alex Aitken welcomed everybody to Le Poussin and a menu of some of his favourites.
Many guests, including Paddy Dawson, Argentier Honoraire de Grand Bretagne, and his wife Jackie, and David Meek and Madge Horah from Thames Valley Bailliage stayed overnight in this rural idyll.
The Crayfish for the starter came from Alex's own lake, and the light and minerally Riesling from Andre Ostertag provided it with a perfect foil. Many people were bowled over by the wonderful Martinborough Pinot Noir which really complimented the Quail Pie.
A great evening for everybody and it was easy to see why such good cooking and impeccable service merit the Michelin Star awarded annually to Le Poussin. We will surely be back to sample more.
